Warum eine „Generation Corona“ droht

Das Nürnberger Institut für Arbeitsmarkt- und Berufsforschung (IAB) hat untersucht, wer besonders unter der Corona-Krise leidet. Der Direktor Prof. Bernd Fitzenberger sagt im Interview, was der Staat tun muss, um eine Pleitewelle zu verhindern.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
