Bei der Kurzarbeit rufen die Arbeitgeber jetzt nach dem Staat

Wegen der Corona-Epidemie rechnet die Metall- und Elektroindustrie mit drastischen Einbußen. Die Arbeitgeber fordern Geld für Kurzarbeit – noch großzügiger als in der Finanzkrise. Doch Experten fürchten einen „hemmungslosen Subventionswettlauf“.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
