Herrschen auf unserem Arbeitsmarkt bald amerikanische Verhältnisse? Über 3,5 Millionen Menschen in Deutschland haben mittlerweile mehr als eine Arbeitsstelle. Tendenz steigend. Eine beunruhigende Entwicklung, meint Sozialwissenschaftler Stefan Sell.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
