Die Einführung eines Sozialen Arbeitsmarktes für Langzeitarbeitslose war ein wichtiger Schritt

Die Einführung des neuen Instruments „Teilhabe am Arbeitsmarkt“ (§ 16i SGB II), dessen Umsetzung und Wirkungen das IAB umfassend evaluieren wird, war ein überfälliger Schritt zur Weiterentwicklung der Grundsicherung für Arbeitsuchende.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
