Die SPD kann stolz auf Hartz IV sein

Die Agenda 2010 hat geholfen, die Arbeitslosigkeit zu senken, und es sind keineswegs vorrangig miese Jobs entstanden. Was dennoch geändert werden müsste, schreibt Prof. Dr. Georg Cremer, ehemaliger Generalsekretär des Deutschen Caritasverbandes.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
