Die schwarz-rote Bundesregierung steht unter Reformdruck. Arbeitsministerin Bärbel Bas hat beim Tag der Jobcenter in Berlin erklärt, warum es mit der von ihr geplanten Vereinfachung des Sozialstaats noch eine Weile dauern wird.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
