Wenn Tech-Milliardäre in die Zukunft schauen

Die allseits bewunderten US-Milliardäre treffen sich nicht nur auf einsamen Inseln zu „wilden Partys“ (E. Musk), sie sorgen sich auch um die Zukunft der Menschheit. Ein Beitrag von Suitbert Cechura, Hochschullehrer für Sozialmedizin im Ruhestand.

Der eine zieht bei der Lotterie der Natur das große Los, der andere zieht die Niete. Der eine erbt Talent und Durchsetzungskraft, der andere Krankheit und Antriebsschwäche. Der eine kriegt einen klugen Kopf, der andere ein schwaches Herz. Der eine ist sein Leben lang gesund, der andere wird mit einer schweren Behinderung geboren. Die Natur ist ein Gerechtigkeitsrisiko. …

Das Schicksal teilt ungerecht aus; und es gleicht die Ungerechtigkeiten nicht immer aus. Hier hat der Sozialstaat seine Aufgabe. Er sorgt dafür, dass der Mensch reale, nicht nur formale Chancen hat. …

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
