Wenn ein Einkommen nicht zum Leben reicht

Armut bleibt ein Tabuthema in Deutschland. Menschen, die davon betroffen sind, reden nicht gern darüber. Viele versuchen sich selbst zu helfen – indem sie zwei oder gar noch mehr Jobs haben.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
