Unternehmen halten trotz Konjunkturschwäche an ihren Mitarbeitern fest. Doch wie lange können sie sich das leisten? Die größte Herausforderung kommt erst noch.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
