Kurzbewertung zum Entwurf des Bürgergeld-Gesetzes

Der Gesetzentwurf des Bürgergeldes bringt an vielen Punkten anerkennenswerte spürbare Erleichterungen für Leistungsberechtigte. Einen konsequenten Bruch mit der Hartz-IV-Systematik bedeutet er allerdings nicht.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
