Demografischer Wandel, Strukturwandel und Digitalisierung machen die Qualifizierung von Beschäftigten immer wichtiger. Die BA kann die Betriebe dabei durch Qualifizierungsberatung, Zuschüsse zu den Lehrgangskosten sowie zum Arbeitsentgelt fördern.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
