Jugendliche sind von der Wirtschaftskrise besonders betroffen: Sie verlieren oft als Erste den Job oder finden erst gar keine Lehrstelle. Das kann lebenslange Folgen haben.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
