Vergesst die Jugend nicht schon wieder!

Nach der Generation Finanzkrise: Gerade als die Jugendarbeitslosigkeit auf Vorkrisenniveau sank, schlug die Pandemie zu. Die EU darf ihre Fehler nicht wiederholen. Ein Gastbeitrag von Guntram Wolff, Direktor des Thinktanks Bruegel in Brüssel.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
