„Wir brauchen diese stabile Brücke, um Arbeitsplätze zu sichern“

Arbeitsminister Hubertus Heil hat die Verlängerung des Kurzarbeitergeldes gegen Kritik verteidigt. In der „tiefsten Wirtschaftskrise unserer Generation“ sei es vernünftig, mit Kurzarbeit Beschäftigung zu sichern, sagte er im Deutschlandfunk.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
