In den Industriestaaten wird Corona 2020 drastische Folgen für den Arbeitsmarkt haben. Die Pandemie zerstört fast die gesamten Beschäftigungserfolge seit der Finanzkrise 2008.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
