Ein gutes Fünftel der deutschen Unternehmen sieht sein Überleben durch die Coronakrise gefährdet. „In den kommenden Monaten könnte sich eine Insolvenzwelle anbahnen“, sagt ifo-Forscher Stefan Sauer.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
