Über 500 000 Menschen von Anfang an Bezieher von Hartz IV

Eigentlich sollte Hartz IV bei der Einführung 2005 mehr Menschen in Arbeit bringen. Doch zur Wahrheit gehört auch, dass mehr als eine halbe Million Menschen seit der Einführung dauerhaft Hartz IV bezogen.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
