Die Arbeiterwohlfahrt bietet dauerhafte Jobs für Menschen, die wegen langjähriger psychischer Erkrankungen aus dem Erwerbsleben ausgeschieden waren – etwa in der Brauerei.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
