Wie sich die SPD den modernen Sozialstaat vorstellt

„Unsere Aufgabe ist, Zukunft gerecht zu verteilen“, hat SPD-Chefin Saskia Esken beim politischen Aschermittwoch der Bayern-SPD in Vilshofen gesagt. Was das konkret bedeutet, steht im Sozialstaatskonzept der Partei.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
