Der langfristige EU-Haushalt ist ein Instrument für Europas Zukunft

In einer Debatte am 12. Februar 2020 über die EU-Finanzen für 2021-2027 betonten die Abgeordneten, dass das Parlament nur einem Haushalt zustimmen wird, der den Ambitionen der Europäischen Union entspricht.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
