„Erwerbsarbeit ist ein gesellschaftliches Gut“

Wie werden wir in der Arbeitswelt 4.0 arbeiten? Hoffentlich mit mehr Bildung für alle, sagt die Soziologin Jutta Allmendinger. Denn Bildungsarmut verbaue noch immer vielen Deutschen Chancen auf eine Zweit- oder Drittkarriere im mittleren Alter.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
