Zwei von drei Erwerbslosen von Armut bedroht

Die Armutsgefährdung in Deutschland ist 2018 auf den niedrigsten Stand seit zehn Jahren gesunken. Aber aus Eurostat-Daten ergibt sich: Mehr als zwei von drei Erwerbslosen sind hierzulande armutsgefährdet. Auch für Ältere steigt das Risiko.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
