Jeder fünfte Vollzeitbeschäftigte arbeitet für Niedriglohn

Bundesweit verdienten 4,14 Millionen Menschen weniger als die sogenannte Niedriglohnschwelle von 2203 Euro brutto im Monat. Auch zwischen West- und Ostdeutschland klafft eine große Lücke.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
