Soziale Sicherheit statt Hartz IV

Der Deutsche Gewerkschaftsbund (DGB) hat ein Diskussionspapier zu Hartz IV vorgelegt. Mit den Vorschlägen sollen „wesentliche Charakterzüge des Hartz-IV-Systems überwunden und das System grundlegend neu gestaltet“ werden.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
