Die Union verspricht „wirksamere Instrumente“ gegen Sozialleistungsmissbrauch. Neue Daten, die WELT AM SONNTAG vorlägen, gäben einen Hinweis auf das Ausmaß des Betrugs im Land.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
