Der Mythos vom „faulen“ Arbeitslosen

Arbeitslose, die nicht arbeiten wollen – dieses Bild taucht regelmäßig in TV-Dokus, politischen Debatten und sozialen Medien auf. Doch wie viel davon ist Realität? Und warum hält sich dieses Stereotyp so hartnäckig?

Das Schicksal teilt ungerecht aus; und es gleicht die Ungerechtigkeiten nicht immer aus. Hier hat der Sozialstaat seine Aufgabe. Er sorgt dafür, dass der Mensch reale, nicht nur formale Chancen hat. …

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
