Stimmt es, dass Menschen in unsere Sozialsysteme einwandern?

Allen politischen Debatten zum Trotz: Es gibt keinen Magneteffekt von Sozialsystemen auf potenzielle Zuwander*innen. Ein Mythencheck zeigt vielmehr: In der Summe entlastet Migration die öffentlichen Haushalte.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
