Vielen Menschen ohne Berufsabschluss sind die Fördermöglichkeiten, um diesen nachzuholen, nicht bekannt. Insbesondere die Weiterbildungsprämie und das Weiterbildungsgeld kennen nur relativ wenige Personen. Das zeigen aktuelle Befragungsdaten.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
