„Arbeit des Europäischen Sozialfonds muss fortgesetzt werden“

Bundessozialministerin Bärbel Bas hat in Berlin Vertreter der Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO) getroffen. Im Gespräch ging es unter anderem um die Mittel des Europäischen Sozialfonds, mit dem die AWO benachteiligte Gruppen unterstützt.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
