Bürgergeld-Reform beschlossen: Wen sie im Land Bremen trifft

Der Bundestag hat den Weg für den Umbau des Bürgergelds frei gemacht. In Bremen betreffen die Änderungen jeden siebten Einwohner – auch Kinder sowie Menschen, die arbeiten oder Angehörige pflegen.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
