Uns geht’s ja noch gold!?

Lange wollten die meisten Deutschen einander gutbürgerlich erscheinen: Man strebte aufwärts! Heute genießt man Dekadenzdiagnosen, kultiviert den scheelen Blick, zettelt Neiddebatten an. So geht’s nicht weiter.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
