Eine vom Institut zur Zukunft der Arbeit (IZA) im Auftrag der Bertelsmann Stiftung erstellte Analyse zeigt, wie bestehende arbeitsmarktpolitische Instrumente Übergänge heute unterstützen – und wo sie diese eher erschweren.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
