Das Sozialforum Dortmund warnt vor den Verschärfungen

Der Dortmunder Sozialverein kritisiert die geplanten Änderungen beim Bürgergeld. Die Reform stelle Leistungsbeziehende unter Generalverdacht. Sie gefährde ihr Existenzminimum. Zudem verschärfe sie die Lage auf dem ohnehin angespannten Wohnungsmarkt.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
