Deutschland – Spitzenreiter bei den Sozialausgaben?

Die jüngste Antwort bietet ein Bericht vom Institut der Deutschen Wirtschaft zu „Öffentliche Ausgaben im internationalen Vergleich“ an. Was ist von diesen Aussagen zu halten? Eine kurze Einordnung.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
