Weniger Bürgergeld? Wie Bremer mögliche Kürzungen bewerten

Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz will den Bundeshaushalt durch Kürzungen beim Bürgergeld entlasten. Betroffen von der Maßnahme wären etwa 95.000 Menschen im Land Bremen.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
