Kann der Staat beim Existenzminimum sparen?

Die Bundesregierung will bei den Sozialleistungen sparen, vor allem über mögliche Einschränkungen beim Bürgergeld wird heftig gestritten. Denn hier geht es um die Sicherung des Existenzminimums. Gibt es Stellschrauben bei der Reform des Bürgergelds?

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
