Arbeitsministerin Bärbel Bas kündigt schärfere Regeln für Bürgergeld-Empfänger an: Wer Termine im Jobcenter schwänzt, soll Konsequenzen spüren. Auch Vermögensgrenzen und Regeln für Geflüchtete will die Regierung überarbeiten.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
