Arbeitspflicht für Bürgergeld-Empfänger?

Seine Erfahrungen aus der Praxis der Jobcenter machten ihm Sorgen, so der Sozialdezernent von Essen. Eine Bürgergeld-Reform sei notwendig. Wer arbeiten könne, müsse etwas leisten.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
