Niedriglohnsektor als Sprungbrett des Arbeitsmarktes

Rund jeder achte Bundesbürger im Erwerbsalter war im Jahr 2021 zu einem Niedriglohn beschäftigt. Der Sektor hat bisweilen einen schlechten Ruf – dabei spielt er vor allem für Arbeitsuchende und für den sozialen Aufstieg eine wichtige Rolle.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
