Eigentlich sollte das Geld aus dem Europäischen Sozialfonds bis 2027 reichen. Dass sich das jetzt geändert hat, liegt laut Claudia Schilling (SPD) an der Corona-Pandemie.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
