5,4 Millionen Menschen mehr von Armut betroffen als gedacht. Die Paritätische Wohnarmuts-Berechnung macht ein bislang unsichtbares Ausmaß der Armut sichtbar.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
