Appell aller Wohlfahrts-Spitzenverbände an den neuen Bundesfinanzminister Dr. Jörg Kukies

Soziale Träger und vielfältige Initiativen brauchen finanzielle Klarheit und Sicherheit, sonst droht auch in Folge der vorläufigen Haushaltswirtschaft nach dem Aus der Ampel-Regierung ein Trägersterben.

Das Schicksal teilt ungerecht aus; und es gleicht die Ungerechtigkeiten nicht immer aus. Hier hat der Sozialstaat seine Aufgabe. Er sorgt dafür, dass der Mensch reale, nicht nur formale Chancen hat. …

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
