Rund ein Drittel der geförderten Arbeitsgelegenheiten für Bürgergeldempfänger soll in Bremen 2025 abgebaut werden. Viele befürchten weitreichende Konsequenzen.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
