Die Zahl der Arbeitslosen in Deutschland ist im September leicht gesunken – eine Entspannung ist aber nicht in Sicht. Im Gegenteil: Holger Schäfer, Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft Köln, warnt vor einer „gefährlichen Gemengelage“.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
