Politiker-Aussagen zum Bürgergeld – und was dahinter steckt

Über das Bürgergeld wird oft hitzig diskutiert. Politiker kritisieren etwa, dass Arbeit sich nicht mehr lohne. Tatsächlich stehen viele Empfänger dem Arbeitsmarkt gar nicht zur Verfügung. Ein Faktencheck, was an den gängigsten Behauptungen dran ist.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
