Der Verdienstabstand zwischen Gering- und Besserverdienenden in Deutschland hat sich zwischen April 2022 und April 2023 im Zuge der Erhöhung des gesetzlichen Mindestlohns verringert.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
