Längsschnittstudien deuten darauf hin, dass das Risiko für die Entwicklung einer depressiven Symptomatik bei prekärer Beschäftigung bei Männern höher ist als bei Frauen.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
