Bürgergeld: Ein Leben am Existenzminimum

Das Bürgergeld steigt im Januar im Schnitt um zwölf Prozent. Politiker von Union und FDP warnen, Arbeit würde sich dann nicht mehr lohnen. Was sagen Betroffene und Finanzexperten?

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
