Von Oktober 2022 bis September 2023 haben die Jobcenter dafür insgesamt 717,9 Millionen Euro ausgegeben, ein Jahr zuvor waren es insgesamt 724,3 Millionen Euro, zwei Jahre zuvor noch insgesamt 731,1 Millionen Euro.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
