Dem Sozialkaufhaus „Spenda Bel“ in Hamburg-Wandsbek droht die Schließung, weil der Bund Gelder kürzt. Leidtragende sind Kund*innen und Beschäftigte.

Demokratie und Sozialstaat gehören zusammen. Die Bürger in einer Demokratie brauchen Ausbildung und Auskommen, sie brauchen eine leidlich gesicherte Existenz. Das Leben wird weiterhin ungerecht beginnen und es wird ungerecht enden. Dass es dazwischen einigermaßen gerecht zugeht – dafür gibt es den Sozialstaat.“
